Alex Kelly was born in Ireland, as his name suggests, but he now lives in Sutton Coldfield.

Alex has become one of the UK's finest still-life and flower painters, and has been influenced by some of the great American painters, like Richard Schmid. His alla prima oils are rich with colour, combining accurate drawing skills with dazzling brushstrokes. This gives his paintings a richness and vitality and convey a moment in time, a glance, a reality, but there is no doubt that these are paintings.
